Prayer Request

Please keep our friends, Brooke, Blake, and Clayton Grieder in your prayers as they lost their precious baby girl this week. Baby Charlotte was very courageous and fought to the very end. Her story has truly touched our hearts.

Snow Day!

Both Brad and I received a phone call, text, and email at 5:30 a.m. telling us that school was cancelled today for Connor. I am not complaining, I am glad that they have all of their bases covered, it just freaks me out a little when the phone rings at 5:30 a.m.! We only got about 1" - 1.5" of snow but one would think it was a flat out blizzard. There were so, so many accidents and it took Brad 2.5 hours to get to work! Maybe next time he will listen to me when I tell him to work from home ;-)

Anyhoo, Connor's reaction to having a snow day was priceless. I decided that because we did not have to get up for anything that I would turn "snow day" into "sleep in" day. Lets face it, we do not get too many of those! At around 8:00 a.m. Connor came bursting into my room. The conversation went something like this:

Connor: "Mom, are you forgetting something?"

Me: "I don't think so"

Connor: "Ummm, I kind of missed the bus (apparently the bus is the main source of socializing for a 1st grader and I cannot put enough emphasis on how "horrible" it is if Connor does not get to ride the bus!) and now you are going to have to drive me to school. You always make me miss the bus (just a side note Connor has NEVER missed the bus!)

Me: "Connor?"

Connor: "Yes?"

Me: "School is cancelled today, have you looked outside?"

Connor: "No" (running to the window), "Woo hoo! Woo hoo! Woo hoo!" (as he does some sort of snow dance and runs to wakeup his brother!)

As I am uploading this picture Cooper says, "Awww, I am really cute!"
