Outsmarted by a 2-year-old...again!

We have been potty-training Cooper for the past few weeks and he is actually doing pretty well for a just turned 2-year-old boy! Most of the time he will tell us if he needs to go and will go pretty much every time we ask him. Well the other day when my mom was here, after he had told her he had to go a couple of times and did so successfully, she decided to put real big boy pants on him. He was doing pretty well with his new found "freedom" and I was quite happy with his success. It wasn't much after I had given him many accolades for his accomplishment that I started smelling something not so pleasant coming from him. After an investigation I figured out that he had gone poo-poo in his big boy pants! I wasn't very excited given what was about to go down in order to get him cleaned up. However, after doing a more thorough inspection, I saw that he had a swim diaper on underneath his big boy pants. Quite enthused about my now easier clean-up situation, I called my mom into his room to tell her that she had put a swim diaper on him and to show her where the pulls-ups were. She said that she didn't put a swim diaper on him but that she had heard him in his room wresting with what sounded like plastic wrapping. Apparently when he decided that he needed to go, he went up stairs, took his big boy pants off, put a swim diaper on, and then put his big boy pants back on over the swim diaper...outsmarted again!

Another One Bites the Dust!

It is yet again time for the tooth fairy. Let me tell you, this was an even bigger deal than the first one. Can you say drama king?! When it started bleeding he was so distraught that he told us he thought he was going to pass out...oh please! Cooper was very jealous of the situation and proceeded to tell us for about 20 minutes after the big event that he was "nest" (next) and was very adamant about us wiggling his teeth. He has a very hard time understanding that he is 2 and not 5! Regardless, we will see if the tooth fairy is able to hold up her $5/tooth tradition that she started...ahem...Brad!

The Tooth Fairy...not the movie!

We have one less thing in our lives to keep clean and we are quite excited about it...when I say we, I mean Mr. Connor (ok, Mommy and Daddy too!) What is it you ask?

One less tooth!

Connor's two bottom teeth have been loose for the last couple of weeks and last night one of them popped out! He was totally grossed out by the blood (we're talking about the kid who freaks out over a paper cut), once he got past that and realized the tooth fairy was on her way, his disgust turned to excitement! After going to school today and showing his toothless smile to his friends, one of them told him that he really, really, really needed to see "The Tooth Fairy"...hopefully he will forget about that ;-)

His new toothless smile!
