Party Time!

I am sure you are not surprised to know that I am running a little behind on getting this post up. We have been crazy busy with school, soccer, remodeling, the list goes on and on! However, I couldn't resist getting a few of Cooper's cake-eating pictures up on the blog!

He had a great party and will probably really appreciate these pictures someday ;-)!

Before his cake feeding frenzy!

As you can tell, he was quite pleased with himself!

MMMMM Yummy!

Want to know what Cooper likes to get in to and eat when he is being minimally supervised?...

Well I am glad that Cetaphil lotion is non-toxic! Apparently it makes a good snack...and a great mustache/beard combo!

Happy Birthday My Sweet Baby!

I can hardly believe that a year has already come and gone, it is truly bittersweet! My little Cooper has really come a long way since this time a year ago! He has learned to hold his head up, roll over, sit unattended, crawl, pull-up, crawl up the stairs and was given the nickname Coopie-Doops by his brother. He is still not walking, but is very close. He also has his 9th tooth poking through as of today! He is very cuddly and sweet and is always laughing and making us laugh.

Although he has only been with us for 1 year, we feel like he has been a part of us forever. We are so thrilled that this precious little boy is part of our family! We love you Coopie!

3-months--He learned to sit-up unassisted!

6 months--Started pulling up!
9 months--Into everything!
1-year-old! Happy Birthday Coopie!

The Joys of Raising Boys!

These events definitely need to be chronicled so here we go. I think I might make this topic an on-going event on The ABC's of the Gillams blogsite. Why? Because I know this is not the beginning nor is the end of what is to come for a mother of two boys!

First off, let's start with Connor. Actually this particular blog is mostly about Connor, I think we all remember what Cooper has been doing lately! If not, refer here.

Alright, so yesterday Connor was playing outside. Before he goes out to play we always do a poop check because after all we have a dog. So, I went out and picked up all the poop that had been deposited since the last time I did a poop check. You know, just trying to stave off the step in poop, track it allover the house sort of scenario. Anyway, he had been out there for awhile when he came back in all excited about the new rock he had found for his rock collection. So I went over to take a look only to realize that it was a petrified piece of icky dog poo...guess I missed some. As some of you may know, I am a bit (ok Danielle, more than a bit) of a germaphobe, so I am sure you can just imagine my reaction. I have also over Connor's 4 1/2 years managed to pass this quality on to him (I am really trying to not pass this on to Cooper, I promise!) After he had realized what I was grimacing about, he was pretty grossed out and not too excited about his new "rock" find. I really hope it has not soured him on playing in the yard because I asked him if he wanted to play outside today during quite time and he said, "no, I think I need to take a break from playing outside because I might find another poop rock". Awww he'll get over it!

Connor take two: The boys were a little tough to deal with yesterday, ok, I am not going to glorify it, they were both really bratty and by the time bedtime came around I was pretty much done. Anyway, I was in Cooper's room putting some clothes away with the door shut because Cooper was playing in his room (refer here if you have forgotten what Cooper likes to do these days) when I hear, "Connor Gillam, you better get those off your feet before your Mother sees you". So naturally I want to see what the heck he is doing now. I walked out to see this...

I looked up at Brad to see him doing all he could not to laugh, which of course make it hard for me not to laugh and to scold Connor. What he has on his feet are two throw pillows from the couch in the living room. They both had less than an inch holes in their seams (probably originally from Connor) and have been on my list to be sewn back together. As you can tell by the following picture, he enlarged the holes quite a bit!

He did get in trouble but you have to admit it was pretty funny. I just had to take a picture because after all, these are the times we are going to look back and laugh at! When asked why he did it he said, "I was just trying to make my feet bigger"...ugh...boys!
