Cooper Dooper, the Super Pooper

I officially started back at the gym yesterday! I was so excited because I have been wanting to do this for some time now. With all of the company that we have had, Brad working crazy hours, and Cooper being too little for childcare, it seemed as though it just might not happen. All was going well, I managed to get myself and both kids out of the door in time to make it there pretty early, after a very late Friday night. I met my friend Angie and her little girl Riley there, we dropped all three kids off at childcare and made our way to the elliptical machines. About 3o min. into our workout we hear, "Cooper's mom needs to come to the front desk please". So we walk to the front and the childcare girl says that Cooper has major diarrhea and they cannot get him to stop crying. I knew right away that it was not diarrhea but the standard grade breast milk poop that haunts me 2-3 times a day. I am sure to the untrained eye, this would appear to be diarrhea.

Sure enough, as soon as I got in there I saw the damage. He had leaked all over his car seat, all over his clothes, and all over the poor childcare helper. There is never a dull day in the world of a breastfed infant, that is for sure! At least I got a little workout in and managed to make it back to the gym. Hopefully next time it will go a little smoother!

P.S. If anyone has any diaper suggestions that keep that dreadful breast milk poop from seeping out, I would very much appreciate it!

One heck of a fun-filled weekend!

Mom, Danielle, Brandon, Ashley, and Camryn came out last weekend for a short visit. We had a heck of a lot of fun and really enjoyed their company. On Saturday we went to Grant's Farm. Connor, Camryn and Danielle really enjoyed feeding the baby goats (what I will call the "kids" as not to get them confused with the human variety.)

This is Camryn freaking out holding her shirt close to her body because the baby goats kept trying to eat it. She was totally disgusted!
Connor and Camryn checking out the donkey's.
Cooper hanging out in his stroller after having just ate and urped/pooped through two outfits!
Connor and Camryn enjoyed a dip in the pool after a long day at Grant's Farm. Yes, that is my little water bug going face first down the "mini-slide"! If we could only bottle the energy of these two little kids!

My two cents about AB and then I am done

As many of you know Anheuser-Busch has had a buyout offer. If the offer is accepted AB will no longer be a St. Louis or American company. The company that has made the offer is known for their overly aggressive takeovers and there are already rumors of their making cuts in excess of 1.5 billion dollars. This would mean jobs cut and benefits lost. For now we feel pretty safe that Brad's job is not on the cut list. However, my father-in-law's very well could be. We are very hopeful that the board of directors decides against this offer so that we are able to keep our local brand from being foreign owned and to save the jobs that are threatened by the take over.

My little-big man 2

Cooper had his 2-month check-up the other day. Yes, my baby is already 2 months old and counting, I can hardly believe it. He is staying true to his genetics, weighing in at 13 lbs 9 oz. which equates to him being in the 90th percentile for weight. Looks like we will have another "chunky monkey" on our hands! He is still a little behind Connor, who was off the charts for weight at 2 months!

He was also diagnosed with Torticollis which is where the muscles on one side of his neck have tightened causing him to have a slight head tilt. The doctor reassured us that it will go away, but he will have to go to physical therapy for a few months to help correct it. She said it is usually caused by being too cramped in the womb. He will also have to have his hips x-rayed in a month to be sure that he does not have any hip problems as they usually go hand-in-hand with the Torticollis.
Cooper and Connor both really enjoyed having Grandma out for the week. I can assure you that she was extremely strict with them and did not give in to any wants or demands!

Dave Matthews Band Rocks...literally!

Saturday night I experienced my first first Dave Matthews Band concert. Danielle and Matt came out and joined, Brad, Brett, Kourtney, and me for the very first concert at the new Busch Stadium. We had a fabulous time, it was truly one of the best concerts I have ever been to, coming in second only to Billy Joel. Although they did not play all of the songs I was hoping for, the ones that they did were great and the crowd was awesome! I later heard on the radio that the concert was sold out and around 35,000 tickets were sold.

Video of Dave singing Crush:

Here is a picture of the crowd:

Most priceless moment of the evening? Danielle telling me that I can still be a lot of fun, even though I am a Mom...I guess it has never crossed my mind that I seem boring to the college crowd. Wake-up call...I am no longer a fun-loving college girl....tear.

Cooper's first photo session

I often brag about what a good baby Cooper is...about how he hardly ever cries and how well adjusted he is. This past Thursday we took him to get his picture taken and all was going quite well until it was time to do our family pics. At this point my perfect little angel showed a side of himself we had not yet bore witness to. He was not going to do family pictures and he was adamant about that fact. There was simply nothing that could be done, where generally a little cuddle or a soft sung song would cure any amount of fussiness...he was simply NOT having it. So, we did the whole binky in the mouth, take it out, snap a quick pic thing only to get several pictures with him screaming his head off. After about 45 min. of this torture and the poor photographer more than likely cursing us in her head, we decided to call it quits. About 5 min. after the torture session, our little angel was back; happy, smiling, and perfectly content. I was very upset that after the strenuous ordeal of getting ready to go get pictures taken and then having the session go so badly, I decided I was going to get some good pics of us. After all, we were all dressed up in our little white polos. So, we went home, and I, yes I, took some pictures that I believe turned out ok. Not too bad for an amateur!

Pujols 5

Friday night Danielle and Matt came to visit. They wanted to eat somewhere unique to STL so we decided on Pujols 5. Connor is a huge fan of Albert Pujols and was super excited to visit his restaurant. He kept asking us when Albert was coming to see him while we were there. We could not get him to understand that Albert was actually on TV as the Cards game was on the TVs there which meant Albert would not be visiting us at the restaurant. He was then convinced that Braden Looper was coming to see us...not really sure where that came from. On the kids menu there is a section for kids to ask Albert a question. So, Connor's question for Albert, "How do you hit the ball?" I guess it does not get much more straightforward than that! He was very determined to give the server the piece of paper with his question on it himself, he was just sure that if anyone else gave it to her Albert would not get it.

My little-big man

Cooper is really one of the best babies I have ever been around. So much for everyone telling us we would not be lucky twice! He really only cries when he needs something, which is great considering I have a quite needy 3-year-old. Connor is a much better little boy these days. There for a while I was thinking work sounded really good again, but he came through ok. He is very clingy now which I would take over whining, crying, and throwing fits any day! We are still working on the picking up toys thing, but I am afraid that may never change!

Cooper is holding his head up really well so we got him a Bumbo seat yesterday. I really wish I would have had one for Connor, he would have loved it. What a cool little seat! We let him be our "centerpiece" at dinner last night and you could just tell that he thought he was pretty big.

Check out this hot couple!

We have been crazy busy lately with weddings, softball, and having family in town. I know, not really a good excuse for my absence on our blogsite, but I promise to make good by posting a couple of blogs today.

Our friends Grant and Ashley were married this past weekend and Brad and I both were in the wedding. We were especially excited because we set them up almost 2 years ago. Who would have thought we were such good match makers?

We were lucky to be able to have my Mom come out to watch the boys because Brad's family were invited to the wedding. Brad's family and Ashley's family have been friends for almost 30 years and Grant went to high school with Brad. So it was kind of a family affair!
