Milestone Marathon!

Look at my baby, what a big boy he is! This last week has been full of milestones. He started rolling over from tummy to back a week ago last Thursday, rolling over from back to tummy on Friday, sitting up on Saturday, a tooth started poking through on Thursday, and today he found his toes and will make noises any time you pat your hand against his mouth! My baby is changing so fast I can hardly stand it. All of this and he is a 8 days shy of his 4-month birthday!

Our New Niece is here!

Caridee Lyn was born July 15th, she was 19 in. long and weighed in at 7lbs. 7 oz. She looks just like her big sister and is a little cutie! Here are a few pics of her and some of her and Cooper!

Oh Connor, My Connor

Tonight at Grandma's House:

Connor: My stomach hurts

Danielle: What's wrong?

Connor: My stomach hurts from the candy that you (pointing at Danielle) gave me (as he stomps off to the bedroom)

Me: Connor, come back inside

Connor: Why?

Me: Because I don't want you to go outside by yourself

Connor: You go outside by yourself

Last night at dinner:

Connor: Mommy, can you pick the icky stuff out of my pasta (mushrooms, tomatoes, and such)

Me: Sure Connor

Connor: Ewww sick, I can't watch

Today on the car ride to KS:

Connor: Grandma, can you fix the itch on my DVD please?

Grandma O: The itch?

Connor: Yeah, the itch. This DVD is NOT working!

Grandma O: Oh, you mean the scratch?

Connor: Yeah--itch, scratch, whatever!

The other night after T-Ball:

Brad: Connor, you did a very good job hitting tonight

Connor: Thank you

Brad: I am very proud of you

Connor: Did you see that one boy? He is the badest hitter that I ever ba-seen!

T-Ball Time!

What we have waited for all summer is finally here! Connor was so pumped to start T-Ball he could hardly wait and was outside "practicing" for about 6 weeks straight! He was very excited to find out that he got a t-ball t-shirt and a Cardinals hat for his uniform. Brad is helping coach so Uncle Brett had to step in to be Connor's parent for the evening. The first session was more like a practice. They set up groups of three and each group rotating through three mini-instructionals. Brett said that Connor did pretty well hitting the ball off the tee and throwing the ball, but had some trouble running the bases as he usually went from 3rd base to back to standing in line, skipping home! He seems to do pretty well throwing the ball, they had to keep backing him up because he was hitting the kid he was "playing catch" with in the stomach. Connor felt pretty bad about that you could tell but after talking about it afterwards he said, "well how come that boy couldn't just catch it?" ....maybe because he's 3?!?!

Apparently it helps to stick your tongue out!

Oh the Lake!

There is really nothing more relaxing than sitting on the dock, taking in some rays, and sipping on an ice cold beverage....awww....ok, back to reality! There were an absolute ton of boats out this 4th of July weekend making the water pretty rough, but still very swimmable. I guess big boats = big money because they were out in full-force. I was really not all about paying 4.59/gallon on the water to get the boat out, but to each his own I guess! Connor enjoyed himself, jumping off the diving board and going down the slide.

He caught two fish with his little fishing pole, one was 16" long!

He even got to go with Daddy and Matt in the canoe.

He enjoyed himself so much that he repeatedly rejected the notion that he had to go pee pee, all while doing a pee/squat sort of dance move...wish I would have gotten some footage of that! Anyway, I hope everyone had a fabulous 4th of July!

I did it!

I am so proud of myself, I made the 4 1/2 hour car trip to my parents house with both boys by myself ! It was really quite easy believe it or not, we didn't even have to stop once! I think I made it there in record time! Cooper slept the entire way there and back, he is really a great traveler. I tell you what though, I am really paying for Cooper being so good. I think he may have gotten a little spoiled by Grandma and Yellyo....surely not!

On our trip we visited Yellyo at work and she gave Connor this super cool pair of goggles to wear...I thought they made him look a little like a blow fish!

This was Cooper's first time actually swimming, he was doing great until some kid aka Connor splashed water into his face, then he was pretty much done.

Yes, he is wearing a Little Mermaid swim diaper, Daddy was sure excited to see that!

My Sweet Boys

Getting Connor to go to sleep is not always an easy task. He often whines to have literally every book on his bookshelf read to him and gets very upset when we do not oblige. The other night was one of these nights and after having read about 10 books he was not giving it up. We went through the typical Connor begging for me to sleep with him, then him trying to persuade me to let him get up. We finally settled on him sleeping in our bed (with the thought of Brad moving him back to his bed after he fell asleep). So that worked for about 15 min. and then he was back to sitting at the top of the stairs and begging me to go up to talk to him. When I finally caved and went upstairs he did not want me to sleep with him, he wanted Cooper to sleep with him. So I thought I would lay Cooper beside him and stand outside the door just to see what Connor would do. Cooper started getting a little fidgety and Connor started singing to him. It was so sweet I rushed back downstairs and grabbed the camcorder just in time to get it on video.
