My Birthday?!?!

I was upstairs working on our bedroom the other day when Connor brought me an envelope. I had been working on Christmas cards and had left this one lonely envelope and the stamps (note the stamp at the top of the picture) on the kitchen table. Apparently, he decided to have some fun!

With the most excited look on his face he says, "Mommy, I made you a birthday card!" So I opened it up to find this inside...

All I could think of was wow, where did he come up with a birthday card? So when I opened up the card I found out...

He wanted to keep a few of his birthday cards this year, so I guess he decided that "re-carding" would really work out! Even though my birthday is still over a month away, it was very sweet!

Let it Snow!

We got hit pretty hard this weekend, with snow accumulating up to around 8 inches at our house. Connor was so excited to wake up to the wintery white view out of his bedroom window, he could hardly wait for Brad to get home so they could go play outside. As you can see, both Brad and Connor were very proud of "Frosty"!

Another Blues Game

Since Connor loved the hockey game so much, Brad thought it would be fun to get the whole family together to go. We had a great time, we went to Rigazzi's on The Hill, which is always a blast, and got to spend some good quality time with Brad's family since we will be missing them at Christmas this year. And to top it off, they were giving out these wonderful hockey masks at the game, as if my child needed more of a reason to act like a boy!

Making Pizza is Hard Work

Apparently Grandma and Grandpa really wore Connor out when they asked him to help roll out pizza dough at their house. It was not more than 15 min. later that the second picture was taken!

Well I guess we did not need MU to win to get a BCS bowl after all!! I do feel bad for all of those MU fans whose hopes were smashed during the bowl selection shows.....not really, they will have fun at the Cotton Bowl....

Never thought I would say this...

GO MIZZOU! Wow, ok, so I said it. It truly does break my heart to say that, but when KU's BSC bowl berth is on the line, we have to do what we have to do. It does hurt just a little. Ok....maybe I have been hanging around my husband too much!

Well it is official, we are having another boy. It was funny because Brad saw that it was a boy before the tech could say anything...I guess it was quite obvious!

Connor is quite excited about his little "brudder" he thinks it is really funny when his baby "brudder" kicks him. I keep telling him to laugh it up now because someday he will probably not appreciate it!

bump bump bump...Let's Go Blues!

We took Connor to his first Blues hockey game this past weekend. He absolutely loved it! He was so excited and did not get his usual 3/4 of the way through the game restlessness. He really caught on to the trumpet blasting bump bump bump and then everyone saying, "Let's Go Blues"! As a matter of fact he walks around the house saying this about 500 times a day. All anyone has to do is say bump bump bump and he will immediately go into "Let's Go Blues". My proof....check out the video below. He is in the middle of eating his donut that daddy brought him this morning and watching his morning cartoon (his mouth is also full and please ignore the chunk on his face ;-)).

Halloween

Connor could not make up his mind about what he wanted to be for Halloween this year. At first it was a scary monster, then he wanted to be Superman, the next time we asked it was Batman, then finally Spiderman. So, we "compromised" and he was a "scary" spider. The 3rd to last picture is him being scary!

Connor's Birthday Party

We decided to have everyone over again this year for Connor's party. He got lots of cool gifts including a Cars book....check out the video....I think he has seen the movie a few too many times!

Once again this year, the cake seemingly exploded onto his little face!

Pumpkin Patch

We waited a little too long to go to the pumpkin patch this year. The pumpkins were, let me just say, a little less than desirable! Needless to say, Connor did not seem to notice, which is all that matters and we did manage to find one pumpkin that was intact.

Connor's Birthday

Connor had a great 3rd birthday! We told him that we would do whatever he wanted to do for his birthday dinner...his response...Chili's. We are not really sure how he knew about Chili's of all places, but he was adamant about going, no changing his mind. Grandma and Grandpa joined us for dinner, presents, and the laugh that we got while Connor was blowing out his candles. Check the video out and do not be afraid to laugh, he did not get hurt, so it is ok!

Connor's New Bicycle

Connor got his first "real" bicycle today...or as Brad likes to call it, his quadracycle! Grandma and Grandpa from KS came to visit and brought along a little surprise, and surprised he was! Now, if we can just get him to figure out the pedals...he is still working on the tricycle that he has had for 1.5 years! As quickly as he picks most things up it the tricycle/bicycle thing is just not clicking for him. I think he may be a little inept in that department!

AB Family Day at the Cards game

AB family day was great this year. What a day, Danielle and Matt were able to come out and go with us, Connor got autographs and got to stand on the Cardinals dugout!

We have news!

Connor is going to be a big brother...see how proud he is ;-) Looks like it will be a spring baby!

Vacation Time!

We went on our first family vacation in August. We were so excited for Connor to fly for the first time. He, however, acted as if he had been doing it his whole life.....no biggie to him. I guess we had expected him to be a little more excited than he was. We flew into Orlando and went to Sea World, then drove to Naples and stayed on the beach for 5 days. Connor overly was infatuated with Shamu and the sand crab that he found on the beach!

As a side note, what a great show Believe at Sea World was, if you get a chance to check it out, we would highly recommend it!

Creepy Connor

This is kind of a funny, but a bit creepy too. Connor says the craziest things sometimes that down right creep me out. The other night he was crying and had been for awhile. After letting him cry for about a half hour I went in to try to calm him down. He was very shaken and kept saying over and over, "Mama, fan (the ceiling fan) tell me, hurry, go sleep in Mama's room". Either he is in touch with some sort of spiritual being or he is quite eerily manipulative for a 2-year-old. Either way, it worked. I refuse to mess with the ceiling fan gods!

Mommy is good at potty training too!

Connor is in midst of potty training. So far, so good. He has been mostly dry for going on four days now! Yeah! Go Connor! Well, this little story stems from this very phenomenon.

After Connor did his "after-nap pee-pee run" I had to use the restroom...this is a little graphic, so close your ears (or eyes) if you do not want to know...! So of course, Connor has to follow me in as I am not allowed to use the restroom by myself anymore. After I finished, Connor got this very joyful expression on his face and says, "Yeah, Mama, I so proud, you went pee-pee." and then ends the whole awkward moment by saying, "Mama, make sure to wash your hands"! So I guess something is working; if anything, he is learning that you must wash your hands afterwards. Oh my!

Connor

We finally went swimming for the first time this summer. Connor had an absolute blast, he went down the little water slide 6 times! He cried when we had to leave as he was not done with the slide.

Mind you, this slide moves at a snails pace...but boy did that little guy feel like he was really doing it!

Connor Funny

I was driving Connor to daycare this morning and realized I had a message on my cell phone from Brad. I put it on speakerphone and played the message. After it was over Connor says, "awwww, that Daddy, he's a really nice person". LOL what a little dork! I don't know where he comes up with this stuff!

Connor's Bathroom

Well we are FINALLY getting Connor's bathroom finished :-) We have only been working on it since January. Brad and Connor just went to go get the rest of the stuff to finish the tile and to get the new sink. Yes, they are going to the ever exciting "Orange Store". I do not know exactly what my husband has told Connor about this store, but everytime Brad or I speak the words, "Home Depot" Connor gets all excited like we are talking about the circus coming into town! Apparently Home Depot has much more to offer than I realized ;) This coming none to soon as Brandon will be here tomorrow night to stay until they get into their apartment. I have been doing some finishing touches on the painting and hopefully will get it all finished! Better get back to work.
